More Fun at Perdid

We took the annual family pictures yesterday.  Most of them turned out great, but I was using a finicky lens and some were not so great.  So, I planned to redo them this afternoon, but the sun didn't cooperate.  So I think I am going to try them again in the morning light, much to the kids delight.  But there were some good ones.  I have to redo the ones mostly of me and the kids, with a lens that will be easier for Mom or Joel to take pictures with.  So, without further ado....

These are always my favorite shots.

Grace in the sand (which she wasn't very  happy about)

Wyatt is always the poser

She really was horrified

This picture is the one that needs to be redone, but I wanted to post it anyway!

Same story with this one...

Fun at Lulu's

Tonight we drove into Gulf Shores, Alabama, to eat at Lulu's.  She is a sister to Jimmy Buffet and we heard great things about the restaurant.  When we finally got there (Onstar directions were forgetting about a bridge) a man at the drive told us the wait was an hour and forty-five minutes.  We weren't thrilled, but we decided to stay since we were already there.  I was so glad, because there was this really neat climbing/harness thing that the kids did.  They probably stayed 30 minutes or more climbing around.  I can tell you this girl wouldn't have been up there!  I was proud of all of them for trying it.  I expected Wyatt to do it, but wasn't sure about the other two :)  So I paid and they got all harnessed up and started climbing.  Here are some pictures of them climbing...

Here is what the climbing thing looked like

The yard at Lulu's, it has a beach party feel to it

This is what would have given me a heart attack!

They all had to try it

Last one!

A good time was had by all!

Perdido Key 2011

We left Nashville at 6:08 Saturday morning, and made really good time, until I decided to take a shortcut about an hour out.  But I guess what's important is that we made it safely!  We have had a great first full day here. Poor Grace got burned really badly, and all of us have some degree of burns.  We have seen more ocean life here than we have on previous beach trips.  We have seen three stingrays (real ones!) and caught three starfish today.  The water has been a little murky, because the tide has been high.  But we have gotten plenty of shells.  The kids love to get on their boogie boards and ride the waves in.  I plan on getting up early in the morning and walking along the beach.  That is a great time for me to get some great pictures and hopefully find some "treasures" that might have washed up during the night.  I will share some pictures from today.
